Following Kirsty’s last blog about “Getting Started” into a healthy and active lifestyle, we chose to update you on Kirsty Wilkinson’s progress and mind-set to get in better shape.
This 12 week’s online coaching has been a very challenging but enjoyable experience with Jake. Our aim was to improve my body shape and lose weight and as a result of this I have now lost 26.5lb of bodyweight in 12 weeks and 4% bodyfat. Since week 6 I have lost 9lbs and 1.5% bodyfat and this was tougher for me during this period because I have been away on holiday for a week therefore my diet wasn’t at its best but I did manage you exercise while I was away with the family which great for me. My greatest achievement has been sticking to the plan as she would usually fail at diets as I have tried so many fad diets and failed before. This is much better than weight watchers and slimming world from experience as I seen faster results in terms of body shape changes and clothes feeling loose. This is partly due to emphasise on exercise and without a doubt Jake has motivated me more than slimming world and weight watchers too. Bootcamp is a part of my weekly exercise regime now and even more so since week 6 as I am motivated to get to as many sessions as I can dependant on work commitments and childcare. I feel apart of a team at bootcamp and they really do encourage you to try your best in sessions. The knowledge about exercise technique I have learnt at bootcamp I have managed to apply at home when exercising and making the effort to warm up is important as I didn’t do this before. This fitness journey is teaching me about assessing body fat % and body shape when working towards my goals and this is something I never looked at before. It was always about bodyweight scales and I would step on these once or twice per week at my sister’s house, where as now I don’t have scales at home and only use these when I have my bi-weekly check in with Jake. There has been no improvement in my work productivity but my trousers are now very loose so I will treat myself to some new ones. I have realised that you need to do it for yourself because nobody is else is going to do it for me. My next goal is to lose another 11lb before my holiday at the start of June and also complete Tough Mudder with my bootcamp friends as I have now signed up and very excited to push myself.
Check out Kirsty’s vlog as she talks about 12 weeks at JWPT and making bootcamp a weekly regime. We hope you can get inspired to make your first steps into a healthy and active way of life.
