After Christmas 2016 like most people I decided I needed to go on a diet. My lifestyle was unhealthy and I needed to change it. I have always wanted to run the Robin Hood half marathon and with my 30th birthday looming in October I decided to set some goals. It was my brother in law who put me in touch with Jake as he’d been on jakes 12 week plan and had some amazing results. After signing up Jake sent me the first 2 weeks worth of the plan and on my first weigh in Jake was really friendly, put me at ease and talked me through the plan. It was a drastic change to my current diet and I was ready for the challenge. I’m not going to lie it wasn’t easy but I did it and Jake was always on hand if I needed any guidance. Full of apprehension I attended jakes Monday night bootcamp and even though it was pouring with rain and was muddy as hell I was so chuffed with myself when I did it! Although I couldn’t walk the next day (as I was so unfit) I put my name down for the following Monday- no pain no gain and all that! I now do every Monday and I’ve done the last 2 Saturdays- the bootcamps are great everyone is so supportive and I’m beggining to feel part of the team and I’m even considering tough mudder! During the last 6 weeks I’ve noticed a massive difference in my energy, my body and my fitness compared to the start of my journey. I even managed my first ever 10k run which meant I could contribute to jakes 2000k challenge for march. I’ve lost 17.5lbs and 2.5% body fat in the last 6 weeks and Everyone is starting to notice the weight loss which is motivation in itself. In the next 6 weeks I want to be up to 10 miles in my runs and want to reduce my body fat further and loose another 10.5lbs to get to the 2 stone mark. I have already asked Jake if I can continue with his support after the 12 weeks and I know with him I can do it. In the words of Jake- “we’re getting it done!!!” Cheers mate here’s to the next 6 weeks!
