Meet Laura, who is a keen runner, bootcamp goer and cave subject. She values exercise and a well balanced nutrition as part of her lifestyle.
2019 has been my first full year of training in the cave as well as Monday bootcamp sessions. I was struggling to fit an extra training session in due to work, family and running so the Friday 6 am session really suits me. Consistent training has been the key and the results have been more than worth it. I’ve had to make a couple of changes to my diet as well to avoid the sugar spikes I’d been suffering from and to fuel my training properly. The combination of these things along with a slight increase in running mileage has had a massive effect on my results. I’ve lost 8kg, reduced my body fat and dropped two dress sizes. This has all improved my running and I’ve managed to PB at 5k, 10k, 10 mile, half marathon, 20 mile and marathon this year.
I love the progression you can see in the cave training- it’s individual to each of us but I enjoy knowing that I can do more reps or higher weights as time progresses. It’s been a brilliant year and I’m looking forward to much more in 2020.
