Check out Natasha’s blog as she starts her journey to getting in better shape with JWPT
I’ve been training at Jake Wood‘s bootcamp since November 2017 and I am trying to fit in as many sessions around a busy shift schedule as possible. My main aim was to start looking after myself and my own health instead of always putting others first and looking out for their health. I had become increasingly unfit and wanted to lose weight but increase fitness at the same time – something that diet alone would not have achieved.
I got in contact with Jake who seemed welcoming and instantly encouraged me to attend his bootcamps with the attitude that he could help me achieve these goals. Before my first bootcamp I was quite anxious – it had been a long time since I was put through a proper workout but Jakes motto of “we don’t leave bootcampers behind” reassured me. Everyone was so welcoming, men and women with varying fitness levels but all with one thing in common – to motivate each other and achieve your own goals. It was tough, but nothing worth having comes easy right? For some reason being cold wet and covered in mud was actually dare I say it “enjoyable”?! I found myself coming back for more as the support and community here was great!
January 2018 and I have just started adding in some personal training too. With my shift pattern I sometimes can’t make as many bootcamps as possible which left me wanting more exercise and more results! I have noticed changes in the 2 months of bootcamps I have attended however nothing compares to photos and how you feel, so I bit the bullet and took some “before” photos. They are most definitely not what I wanted to see – but that’s why I’m here, things will change and I will not look back! 2 weeks in and I’m feeling great – I have made achievements already – no more ab crunches I can now do full sit ups, and I have managed to increase my cardio too with a full run round the park (something I could definitely not have done before!)
February 2018 is the milestone I’ve earned my bootcamp tshirt which you can only receive after completing 20 bootcamp sessions with Jake. This is has given me a boost of motivation to get to more bootcamp sessions and work on getting fitter.
My goal for 2018 is to get my 100 bootcamps tshirt which means I have got stay active and committed to exercise every week at Jake’s bootcamp.
