Doing just two sessions a week I found that I was getting much stronger and more toned and I felt fitter than I had ever been. I was a bit nervo…us about entering my first obstacle race but Jake encouraged all the bootcampers to join in and challenge themselves so I thought I’d give it a go. It felt really good to have the support of the other bootcampers and I found that I really enjoyed each event. It gave me the confidence to set my own goals.
I decided I wanted to try something different and so this year I entered a 12 hour relay with my husband and set myself the goal of trying to run 5 x 10km laps! This was more than twice the distance I had ever run.
As the race approached I found myself getting more nervous but just before the race I received my 100 bootcamp t-shirt! This was a great chance to focus on what I had achieved since I started bootcamp. All the squats, the hill sprints, press-ups ….more squats! The variety of workouts had improved my strength and endurance fitness. I realised that, although I was nervous, the challenge was exciting and with the help of Jake and the other bootcampers I had put in enough training to enjoy the event. I am pleased to say that on the day I achieved my goal of five laps.
And so; this seems like a good opportunity to say thank you to all the bootcampers and most importantly to Jake. You have inspired and encouraged me to challenge myself and result feels amazing! Thank you’
