About 6 months ago, I was constantly tired, run down, unfit and unhealthy, and decided something needed to change. I was recommended Jake Wood a personal trainer to help educate me to get healthy and get fit.
We met up and discussed my eating habits and lifestyle. I found I had a lot of bad habits and a lot of excuses why I don’t eat healthy and exercise regularly.
With Jake straight away I felt comfortable and it was clear he wanted me to be committed and wanted me to do well. It was all about what I wanted to get out of this and I could achieve if I put the work in.
We set realistic goals, with shift work I had struggled in the past to maintain any sort of healthy eating, but the education that Jake gave me actually made it pretty easy to stick to. There weren’t any fancy recipes or unrealistic diets, just healthy eating and exercise.
It wasn’t easy to change all my habits but as I started seeing changes this spurred me on to do better.
The 1:1 sessions with Jake were not easy to start with, I don’t think I could walk for a week after that first session. But as I began to increase my exercise and put in the work that Jake had taught me it wasn’t long before I started to feel the benefits.
There were times when I struggled to find motivation, it would be a hard day at work, or a bad nights sleep but as Jake would say ‘get it done’, and I did because he had taught me the only person that can change me is me.
I had never been one to run or do any sort of running, but with Jakes coaching I built myself up and now signed up to do my first 5k in a few weeks!
Overall it’s been one of the most challenging but best experiences I’ve had, Jake is so committed into helping you do well and reach your goals. I now have the education and motivation to carry on and have even started his bootcamps.
