Over the months and years attending JW Bootcamps I reached my 100 bootcamp milestone. This was marked with a new training top off Jake. Made me realise how much work I had put in to achieve it. My greatest success whilst being at bootcamp has been my lifestyle change. My attitude towards my diet and training sessions has changed. Having the 3 bootcamp sessions a week really works well for me and I have pushed myself even further with Jake’s help.
My body shape has totally transformed, especially over the last 18-20 weeks. I have had to really strive for this with extra training sessions and following the strict dietary advice that Jake has given me via online coaching. I have lost 11kg in the last 4-5 months as a result of this. The online coaching has really helped give me advice and knowledge that I did not already have. There are recipes for meals on there which can make the difference when eating the meals as it has helped me to vary them as well as exercise tutorials and videos which are really easy to follow.
Now don’t get me wrong this is not something that has been at all easy. There have been times where I have looked at food not in my diet and really wanted to eat it…..but that was what my refuel was for, I always made that count haha. The plan I have followed has been gradual and not a quick fix, I have worked hard for the last 18-24 months but really gone the extra mile in the last 4 months. Again one of Jake’s motto’s…..’You only get out what you put in’.
There have been times where I have not wanted to get up at 4:30am to go for a run before work but I knew that to see change I had to push myself. This was the steady progression that Jake gave me and now looking at my plan it is hard but can be followed by anyone. It was just a case of getting past the age old excuses of why I couldn’t do it and just ‘getting it done’ (wow that is another Jake motto….slightly better than his jokes).
If I could pass on advice to anyone looking for that body transformation/lifestyle change I would tell them it is not an easy journey, but it is one that is so fulfilling when you start to see results. I feel like I always have more energy and can now push myself even further than I have done before. AND anyone can do this…..just got to dive into it headfirst and give it 110%.
Jake himself as a trainer has been superb (questionable jokes and gags). This is not only from his bootcamp sessions but he is always available when I have needed his advice/help with my diet and workouts. Would highly recommend to anyone out there. Jake also organises many events that take place throughout the year such as Tough Mudder/Rat Race and his Bootcamp Weekends, all which he encourages bootcampers to attend and equips them with the tools to overcome these challenges.
Jake’s Bootcamps really are for everyone. All ages and abilities attend. There are no egos at the bootcamps. Everyone speaks to everyone and people are always willing to offer a helping hand if it is required. Each session is varied and tailored to everyone’s needs. I cannot recommend these sessions highly enough.
Even though I have got to a good level at this moment in time I am now looking ahead with Jake’s help to push on further this year and tackle all the challenges I have signed up for, Rat Race/Europe’s Toughest Mudder and Tough Mudder. I am not settling for what I have been want more improvements and an even better 2017.
